My mother and I had a really long discussion the other day about how much technology is too much when it comes to kids. Mine are 13 and 15 and they’ve both got cell phones though I feel like 13 is a little young. We got all the satellite TV channels for them too, and wild blue internet, so they pretty much spend all their waking moments at home glued to some kind of screen. I love that they’re able to work on homework more effectively and that I can text them when I’m going to be late picking them up but you know, I feel like we’re talking less and less and that makes me sad. I don’t want to lose touch with my kids when they live in the same house as me and sometimes I worry that’s what’s happening – all our technology is really pulling us apart! I love them to death but I may have to set some limits on how much tech time they’re allowed to have each night.
